Introduction

A global FMCG leader specializing in beauty and healthcare.

A multinational fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) organization, with a presence in beauty, personal care, healthcare, real estate, paper, and packaging sought to simplify user management and endpoint security. Driven by a commitment to innovation, seamlessness, and efficiency, it operates across multiple geographies and serves a global customer base.

Challenges

Sync & Secure to tackle hybrid identity challenges.

Disjointed identities and vulnerable endpoints present significant challenges for enterprises operating a hybrid IT environment, as this leading FMCG brand demonstrates. Their existing infrastructure relied on Microsoft Entra local servers synced to the cloud, leading to several operational inefficiencies and security risks.

Overcoming complexities with Microsoft Entra Local Servers in hybrid environment.

The company's user data and identities were stored on Microsoft Entra Local servers, then synced to the cloud. It created synchronization issues, resulting in fragmented user management and delays in user provisioning.

Lack of centralized Identity Management.

With the hybrid approach, the company faced difficulty in managing identities from a central point. Inconsistent identity management led to difficulties in granting, managing, and revoking access. This led to inefficiencies in user provisioning and de-provisioning, especially for cloud services like Office 365.

Difficulty in managing endpoints and addressing security vulnerabilities.

The organization had to manage and secure both on-premise infrastructure and cloud systems, each with its security protocols and access controls. This led to gaps in visibility and control, making it difficult to implement centralized security measures, monitor threats effectively, and ensure compliance across all environments. Moreover, many endpoint devices were either unmanaged or outdated, increasing the organization's vulnerability to potential security threats.

No conditional access control for applications.

Lack of granular access control resulted in unrestricted access to sensitive systems, regardless of user roles or location. This increased the risk of unauthorized access and potential data breaches. In effect, unauthorized or non-compliant devices were able to access critical company resources.

Solution

Securing Windows endpoints and streamlining Identity Management drive operational excellence.

Scalefusion’s integration with Active Directory enabled automatic user authentication, synchronized credentials, and enhanced security across all devices with consistent access control.

Centralized Identity Management for seamless authentication.

Additionally, migrating user data from Microsoft Entra Local servers to the cloud centralized identity and access management. This integration streamlined access processes, enhanced security, and improved user management. Automating Windows device configurations and updates ensured continuous compliance with security standards across all endpoints. It eliminated vulnerabilities, strengthened device security, and boosted operational efficiency through centralized management.

Context-aware access controls for device compliance.

RBAC and granular access controls were implemented to restrict access based on user roles, ensuring only authorized individuals could access sensitive data. Zero Trust Application Access (ZTAA) took this a step further by continuously validating user identity, device health, and contextual factors (location, time, SSID, and/or day and time) before granting access to applications.

Enforcing device compliance checks ensured that only devices meeting security standards—such as strong password requirements, updated OS, and encryption—were granted access to company resources. Devices that were rooted or lacked proper security configurations were blocked, minimizing the risk of unauthorized access and ensuring that only trusted devices could interact with sensitive data.

Seamless access, smarter savings with Single Sign On.

The company simplified login management, reducing IT support costs and streamlining user access across all applications with SSO. This efficiency enabled economies of scale, as fewer resources were needed for password management and troubleshooting. As a result, the company optimized its bottom line by lowering operational costs and improving overall productivity, while maintaining strong security across its systems.
