Introduction
New Opportunity Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. (NOCPL) serves as a Business Correspondent for multiple banks. It offers group-based micro-loans to women across rural India, empowering them to achieve financial independence. The company had multiple BYOD devices used by rural women.
The large device inventory presented significant challenges in terms of managing apps, data security, and operational efficiency. They needed an effective solution that could help streamline app deployment and updates, ensure data security, and improve overall IT productivity.
Challenges
One of NOCPL's primary challenges was managing and updating enterprise apps across a vast network of personal devices used by rural women. Since these apps are not available on the Play Store, they had to be privately distributed. With over 5,000 BYO devices in circulation, manually recalling each device for app updates and sensitive data removal was both cumbersome and costly. The process disrupted end-users and significantly increased operational expenses.
Ensuring that end-users did not retain sensitive corporate data after leaving the organization was a critical concern. Uninstalling enterprise apps and deleting APK files remotely was a challenging and time-consuming process that needed to be automated and secured.
Solution
NOCPL was able to enroll the personal devices of the rural women onto the Scalefusion dashboard with ease. Due to Scalefusion’s short learning curve, administrators at NOCPL were easily able to demonstrate the process of BYOD enrollment to their end-users (the individuals situated in the rural areas).
With Scalefusion’s Containerization for BYOD Android devices, NOCPL successfully separated work-related data from personal data on employees’ devices. They implemented a secure container for work apps, preventing users from copying data to their personal profiles. This ensured data privacy while providing rural women with seamless access to essential work applications.
Scalefusion enabled NOCPL to remotely deploy over 60 enterprise apps from its native app store to 5000+ devices, eliminating the need for device recalls and manual updates. Additionally, they were able to remotely delete applications and associated data from multiple devices, ensuring protection against potential data breaches.
The app inventory reports offered a detailed overview of the apps installed on each device, allowing the IT team to monitor app versions and ensure that outdated or unwanted apps were removed without delay.
Result
With Scalefusion, NOCPL streamlined its app management process, replacing manual, time-consuming tasks with an automated and seamless approach. The IT team gained the ability to remotely update and manage apps across all devices, ensuring compliance and security.
As a result, IT productivity increased by 35%, with significant cost savings from reduced operational expenses, such as fewer device recalls and manual updates. This allowed the company to reallocate resources toward strategic initiatives instead of routine app management.
Additionally, NOCPL could withdraw apps from the personal devices of former employees, safeguarding corporate data and preventing potential data leaks. NOCPL was also highly satisfied with Scalefusion’s responsive customer support and development team, who provided timely assistance and customized features to meet their specific requirements.
